In Sigur, the user can determine that for a certain cardholder to access the premises, a permission of a certain person is required or that access is only allowed if the cardholder is accompanied by another employee.
These rules can be used to randomly check some employees at a checkpoint or to organize access control for premises where valuable assets are stored. It is especially useful for various sensitive sites or dangerous production facilities.
This rule means that a certain employee (or a group of employees) cannot pass a certain checkpoint without the accompanying person’s permission. The accompanying person can be a security officer, who permits access after physical inspection of the requestor or a background check.
When access is attempted, first the accompanied person is identified (e.g., by tapping their card on the reader), at that point Sigur controller switches to pending mode awaiting permission of the accompanying person.
When pending the permission, the LED on the reader will flash shortly. To make these events more noticeable for security officers, sound and light indication can be connected to Sigur controller via the output ports.
The pending time can be changed. It is set to 10 seconds by default. During this time, the security officer will see information about the identified cardholder (accompanied person) on the screen and will be able to verify their photo. The accompanying person must check in with the system within the set period of time by tapping their card on the reader. If they do, the access will be permitted and then only the accompanied person’s access will be registered in the system.
The following parameters will allow more precision and flexibility of configuration for this functionality:
To ensure stricter access control at the premises where valuable assets are stored, Two Persons rule can be used. If this rule is applied, only specified employees together will be able to access the premises. At the selected checkpoint, such employees must check in one after the other within 10 seconds. In this case, access events will be registered for both of the cardholders.
For this access rule, certain cardholders, doors and checkpoints as well as access directions can be set.
This access rule is useful for inspections and background checks of the visitors. The employee will be able to walk through the door only after the security officer’s permission.
If any of the parameters do not match or the employee has been found to carry any prohibited objects, the security officer may deny access.
Security officers can permit access in Sigur in a number of ways.
Without using the software:
By pressing the button on the control panel directly connected to the controller or by tapping their card on the reader.
Via Sigur software (connection to the server required):
By pressing the respective button in the interface.
The configurable parameters include: direction of access (entry, exit or both); doors and checkpoints which will, upon an access attempt, return an accompanied access request; employee or a group of employees whose access attempts must be pre-approved.
All inspection-related events are registered in the system. These events can be viewed in the archive as well as analyzed and downloaded as reports.
