SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
Any Android mobile devices (version 4.0 and newer) are supported. The app can be downloaded from Google Play.
SUPPORTED CARD TYPES
In general, almost all card types are supported. If your device is NFC-enabled, it is compatible with Mifare Classic, Plus, DESFire as well as bank cards such as MasterCard PayPass, or Visa PayWave with an embedded contactless chip.
For other types of identifiers (such as EM Marine), an external USB reader can be used. Note that the device to be used as a terminal must be OTG-enabled and the reader must support a keyboard emulation mode.
CONNECTION TO THE SERVER
To transfer data between the server and the terminal, both Wi-Fi and mobile data can be used. The terminal can operate in two modes:
Online: the terminal is constantly communicating with the server and requesting information about the cardholders and their access rights as well as sending back access events.
Offline: the terminal operates independently and stores the information about the cardholders and registered events in the internal memory of the device. When the connection is restored, all saved events are sent to the server.
Both modes support storing and processing of several identifiers for one cardholder.
Similar to other access points, the connection status of the terminal is available in real time in Sigur client software.
ENCRYPTION AND SECURITY
Cardholders’ data stored on the terminal in offline mode as well as all data transferred between the terminal and the server are encrypted.
SECURITY VERIFICATION AND AUTOMATED REGISTRATION
When a card is tapped on the terminal, the security officer will see complete information about the cardholder, including his or her photo, name, position and comments, if any. After the verification has been completed, the button is pressed and the access event is registered..
The device can also inform the user that the card or pass will soon expire.
The terminal can also be configured so that when the card is tapped, the access event will be registered without any involvement of the security officer. This can speed up the access registration process significantly.
